Just One Pound - Make A Difference This Christmas

Just one pound

In January we set ourselves the target of raising £5,000 to help Children's Hospice South West run their three hospices in Devon, Cornwall and Bristol.

Throughout the year our staff have been raising money through sponsored abseils, firewalks and marathons.

We are giving the proceeds of our used cardboard box sales to the charity and, in return for a small voluntary contribution, we are even offering free "Elf Storage" to anyone who wants to hide their Christmas presents from their prying children or curious partners.

How you can help this Christmas
We wanted to give our fundraising efforts one last push before the end of the year so we are now accepting donations online or at any of our self storage, removals and portable buildings depots in Devon and Cornwall.

If you would like to help us meet our £5,000 target and make a small gesture of support for life limited children and their families at Christmas then we would gladly accept a £1 donation online via our Virgin Money Giving page or at any of our branches.

"Just One Pound" - It all makes a difference!
Dainton's Operations Director, Shaun Duncan, says "We realised that if even a small proportion of the country gave just £1 to our initiative, we could fund the three hospices for a year."

"We wanted to champion this fantastic cause at a time when many people's thoughts naturally turn to their families and children, because not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to enjoy the festive period."

Naomi Dymond, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Children's Hospice South West, says: "At times during the year, some of our children and families need very special care and Christmas is one such occasion. Many parents feel overwhelmed by the competing demands they are juggling at this time – the round the clock needs of their child, the anticipation of brothers and sisters and the challenge of preparing all the festive fare. This is why our hospices remain open throughout the year – so we can be there for families, whenever they need us, to provide much needed support."
